Cache settings were silently discarded instead of applied

Several settings in the shared cache template were written to a location the platform ignores - including the one that enables the password. They reported as applied with no error anywhere, which is why the missing password went unnoticed. Scheduling, encryption and multi-server layouts were affected the same way.
