Machines now shut down cleanly on a power failure

When utility power fails, the machines running your services now shut down in an orderly way instead of being cut off mid-write.

This was supposed to be handled by three dedicated appliances. All three were found switched off, so nothing would have happened. The job now runs on the machines themselves, where it cannot be left powered down.
