Storage rebuilt onto disks proven by a full burn-in
Before anything was moved, every disk destined for the new platform was run through a full surface, soak and SMART burn-in as a set, and the arrays were rebuilt on the ones that passed.
Disks that fail do so disproportionately early. Testing them before they hold your data, rather than after, is what stops a fresh platform inheriting a bad disk.
