Asking a question or how-to
Questions belong in the wiki and Discord, where the answers stay findable.
Questions are not feedback, and the feedback boards are the slowest way to get an answer.
Try the wiki first
Nearly every "how do I…?" is already answered in the Think wiki. It is the real documentation for every Think service — setup, usage, troubleshooting, and the reasoning behind how things are built.
Search there before anywhere else. The answer is usually already written, and it will be more complete than anything typed into a comment box.
Then ask on Discord
If the wiki does not cover it, ask in Discord. Questions get answered fastest there, other users can help, and answers arrive in minutes rather than at the next triage pass.
Why not the feedback boards?
Because a question posted as feedback ends up in a queue designed for prioritising work, not for answering people:
- It waits for triage instead of being seen by whoever is around
- It cannot be voted on meaningfully — nobody "votes" for your question to be answered
- It clutters the boards, making genuine requests harder to find
- The answer is invisible to the next person, because nobody searches the feedback boards for how-tos
When a question is feedback
Sometimes the question reveals something worth posting. If you had to ask because the interface is unclear, or because the documentation is missing, that is legitimate feedback:
- "The label does not explain what this does" → Feedback Requests
- "The wiki has no page for this" → Feedback Requests
- "This should not need explaining at all" → Feedback Requests
Ask the question first and get unblocked. Then, if the reason you had to ask is fixable, post that separately.
