6.3.17.36 — August 2026
Services
- Released and documented baseline-client and urbackup-client as ThinkChoco Chocolatey packages, now installable from both the dev and prod feeds and listed in the curated applications wiki.
- Released and documented Think3D — a self-hosted 3D print collection manager that scans, previews and tags your model library, powered by Manyfold.
Stability
- Fixed database protection: two databases now take nightly backups kept thirty days, one had encryption turned on to match the rest, and the rule keeping copies on separate servers now works.
- Fixed the caching security gap above: every cache now needs its own password. Two other faults were fixed too — one service used a cache address that never existed, another wrote nowhere valid.
- Fixed a defect in the shared cache template: several settings, including the one enabling the password, were written where the platform silently discards them. They looked applied and were not.
- Upgraded the caching layer's controller by four versions to its current release. Its automatic update checks had never run, so it had quietly fallen behind since last year.
- Upgraded ThinkPlan onto current versions of the shared building blocks it is assembled from, four majors on. Your data and files were untouched.
- Retrofitted that controller's deployment: a teardown step that never worked, an update step that reported success while doing nothing, and update checks that could not fire without a schedule.
Documentation
- Documentation of the database platform behind the services you use — how a database is created, how it survives a server failure, and what can and cannot be recovered when something breaks.
- Documentation of the caching layer behind several services — what it holds, why nothing important lives there alone, and a security gap found while writing it, now scheduled for fixing.
- Documentation of the second database platform, used by a few services — how it is set up, how accounts and permissions work, and two gaps found while writing it, both now scheduled.
